Self-Perception

My name is Tori. I’m a freshman in High School. I’m the keyboardist of a psychedelic rock band, the sister of my best friend, a dreamer… and a few years ago I discovered art.

Art takes up every aspect of my life. Though I have other hobbies, such as music and writing, art is what I’m most passionate about. I want to become an art college professor when I grow up and study Graphic Design and Intermedia at an art college. In order to do this I must strengthen my skills as much as possible.

Sometimes I lack motivation to create, and sometimes I get lost in the jumble of knowledge that I’ve set out to learn. There’s so much to art, and I get frustrated trying to learn it all.

I want to be able to draw straight from my head and create compelling artwork using proper color theory and composition. I want to learn the rules of art and how to break them, and I want to be able to master as many mediums as I can so I can get the exact result that I want.

I think Drawing Academy is doing a great thing, both with this contest and offering the knowledge that many people spend years trying to learn. Just putting together courses like the Drawing Academy is exceptional: offering them for free to even just a few artists is mind-boggling. I would really love to learn all that the Drawing Academy has to offer, to help me in my path to become an artist.

Seeing as I have very little money, as I am young and not yet qualified for a job, the opportunity to learn so much for free is overwhelming. I want to win because this information could help me on my journey, and I truly want to learn all that I can. I spend hours daily browsing the internet looking for new techniques, and there’s only so much I can learn that way… if I had an advanced course in my arsenal, I could create beautiful artwork much quicker than I can now.

I’m young. I’m learning. All I want is to become an artist, no matter what it takes. I would be dedicated to learning everything this course has to offer, and I would utilize the course material as best I could. If you vote for me, you can help me create, and for that I would be thankful.
