I am a self-taught artist. I have been retired since 2010 and in 2020 started drawing and painting as a hobby. I have since produced about 15 sketches and about 30 paintings (Acrylics) depicting pictures of relatives (grandchildren and dogs). I have noticed that in taking the first course in Drawing by the Virtual Instructor, I have improved well enough to consider attempting tis entry. MY biggest challenge by far is drawing images of people, and my second biggest challenge is drawing city scape scenes where European impage of buildings, alleys, and people are present. I would love to feel confident in building – construction images of a more complex nature, such as the first and second challenges listed above.

I have seen many Drawing Academy images, illustrations, and paintings, and feel this would be the best forum for learning the techniques to move to the next level of skills. Winning the course competition would provide me with an ideal framework for improving my skills and furthering my opportunities for producing art. I am retired and cannot afford the Drawing art class course fee, so winning this competition would be a gift of immense value and offer me a chance to improve my skills.
