Antique Head Drawing

Antique Head Drawing

Drawing by Luca Molnar, Drawing Academy student

Firstly I would like to say thank you for giving me the chance to study here! I think I have already learnt a lot, even though I’ve just started the curse 3 weeks ago. This is the first I study drawing and it so exciting.

I want to show you one of the drawings I did and see if you think I could improve it in any way.

I haven’t had the time yet to choose a theme by myself and draw it, I was really busy completing the lessons in the past few weeks :)

Feedback from Vladimir London, Drawing Academy Tutor

Dear Luca,

Thank you very much for your positive feedback on the Drawing Academy course. I’m glad that you find it helpful.

Your artwork is very good. You have an eye for details. The constructive drawing is built very well and rendering of tonal values clearly describes a three-dimensional nature of the head.

I would suggest for your next antique head study to use a sharper pencil, so you can practice delicate pencil strokes in layers.

Well done!

Below, I will show some antique heads drawings done by Russian art students in the past. It is always good to have an example of how other artists draw white marbles/casts in graphite pencil.

I wish you all creative success you deserve.

Kind regards,
Vladimir London
