Question from Brian

If drawing from photos is not good then what should I draw for practice?

Dear Brian,

Thank you for your question. Drawing is a non-verbal language of communication. It is a way of thinking and sharing your ideas. When learning some foreign language, you may ask what should I read, write and tell for practice. And the answer is – whatever comes to your mind and keeps you motivated. As long as you use that language, your language skill will improve.

At the same time, there are certain exercises you may do to improve you “vocabulary”, “grammar”, punctuation”, and so on.

What to draw for learning, depends on your level of drawing skills.

Here’s the video that will help you to self-assess your drawing skills and get some ideas of what you may draw to advance your skills from level to level.
