Portrait drawing by Chris C., Drawing Academy student
Nymph
I want to thank Vladimir and Natalie for providing such a wonderful experience. I had no training in art at all. In fact, I did not really draw or paint anything until I turned 54. It was the Drawing Academy course that got me started. I have a very LONG path ahead, but at least I have begun. The journey is the point, right.
This drawing is one of the first ones. I call it “Nymph”. It is special to me because I imagined it and there it was. I am thinking that if I want to improve, I should develop all the skills that Vladimir talks about in the videos through practice, discipline, and patience with myself. These are good lessons for life as well.
I hope everyone taking this course is having as much fun as I am.
All the best,
Chris C.

Hi Chris,
Your drawing is very good, well done. It looks like an illustration rather than a classical drawing, which is good because you have a recognizable and unique style.
Despite this portrait is not realistic, the overall look and feel of this artwork is very pleasing.
You may want to work on facial features like eyes, nose, mouth and ears to get more confidence in drawing portraits and capturing model’s likeness.
Once again, thank you for your drawing and positive feedback.
Kind regards,
Natalie Richy and Vladimir London

All the best Chris. My only advice would be to draw the shape of the head first and mark all the points based on what you know, i mean proportions.
I would have to agree with the tutors, the overall effect is quite pleasing.
