Painting as way back to life

Hello artists and just curious souls!

I would prefer to write about someone else rather then myself as it feels somewhat awkward. So, I will be brief. I used to be a scientist. A few years ago I had a stroke with all classic ‘perks’ that usually come with it: paralysis, complete loss of memory, vision and speech.

It was a long way back to normal life. I am aware that it may reoccur any day. My initial motivation to learn how to paint was purely selfish – I wanted to leave behind something that would people remember me for. That is how I begun learning painting.

Since then, painting became my passion and way of life. I am entering this competition because I consider myself an amateur and know that I have a lot to learn and need to do that soon.
