I am Rim ARAFEH, a self-taught artist. I’ve loved drawing since childhood, but honestly speaking, in order to please my parents I went in a totally different direction, I am Ph.D holder in economics, got it from Russia in 1993, I was fascinated by the Russian art, and wanted to change my studies into fine arts, but for one reason or another, I cowered and didn’t dare to take that risk because I was sent by my government to study economics. Now, after 30 years of working with my Ph.D. I decided to follow my dream, and study art. I am a Syrian refugee living in France, I work as tattoo artist, and I am so interested in honing my skills and perfecting my techniques. I would be so grateful to the voters and to the academy if I win this competition, and will never forget this favor.
