Man’s Best Friend

I first began to draw when when I was 6 it was mostly fairytales snow white, Cinderella, beauty and the beast because that’s what I could relate to the most back then my life was like a fairytale.

I’ve been home schooled my whole life when I look back, I was never bored like most people would think, it was more like each and every day of my life was a new adventure, a mystery, like I don’t know what’s going to happen next.

Later in 2007 i was 8 when my father passed away, It was a really hard time, it was almost like the fairytale was over, that’s when I started doing portraits of people and animals, probably because to feel like there were more faces there to fill his absence, but they never did.

I came across this site and I appreciate the way people are made to submit their art, what I learnt from it is that “its not only the art it’s also the emotion and story behind that piece of work”. The art work I’m submitting is probably the last one I’m doing for many years to come so i wanted to share it with others and I would like to thank drawingacademy.com for giving me the opportunity.
