Question from Firdaus, a drawing course student
Hello!
I have a question about erasing pigment from manually toned paper. In your video on how to tone paper for drawing, you effortlessly took off the pigment with a rubber eraser to create white highlights.
I have troubles with replicating this process. I have tried using non-staining pigments with similar shade of earthy yellow from various brands (Winsor & Newton, White Nights, Van Gogh, Old Holland etc) on 300gsm 100% Cotton CP Watercolor paper. However the pigment wouldn’t come off with using a rubber eraser. Can you advise?

Thank you for your positive feedback on perspective video; I do appreciate it.
Regarding highlights, it is better to use hot-pressed drawing paper because watercolor paper absorbs paint too much and pigment particles sink into fibres deep; so it is very hard to erase.
