With the recent article published about Leonardo da Vinci, one of my heroes, I felt impressed to share this drawing I did of Leonardo’s self-portrait. I know in some quarters copying is frowned on, but personally I feel it has advantages. It can help us learn about rendering and techniques when we copy the master’s work.

Leonardo has been one of my mentors so to speak. I enjoy studying his work and learning about techniques when copying his drawings and sketches, which helps me tremendously with my own drawing abilities. Once I understand a technique I then try to use it in an original way when creating works of my own.
