Drawings and story from Alejo
Not giving up now
Hey everyone, I’m 18 years old, self taught, currently trying my best to improve my art skills so I may be able to study abroad in the next few years.
Where I’m from art is a minority and not well received not taught in my opinion. I want to learn fundamentals and strong practices that I can incorporate in my work.
All this to one day be able to teach back to my community proper art education so that a true appreciation for the subject can be obtained and art in this place can grow and develop.
Art is my happiness. It has made me aware of the life around me and within me and I find that immensely beautiful and intriguing. It’s what I can make unique to myself.
However I have a lot of gaps in my knowledge right now, gaps that I’m sure the Drawing Academy course can help me truly understand and apply in my drawings.
I mostly want to get better at drawing figures but really I think as an artist I should be able to draw anything! And I want to have that skill set so I can communicate my ideas as best as possible.
The Drawing Academy is really reliable in terms of information. I often check the questions students ask that are immensely helpful for me as a self taught student. When I’m not sure where I’m going with a drawing, I check here and my answers couldn’t be clearer.
What I love the most about it is it’s reference to the Masters and to the important fundamentals so many people ignore. I think that in itself is incredible and hugely satisfying.
I want to win this course so I may have the proper fundamental knowledge for drawings so that when I teach someone else one day I can instill in them proper art fundamentals and a true appreciation and consideration for the arts. I want to do my best so I can give back my best.
I’m just a self taught artist working to defeat this non artistic environment I’m in. For years, I’ve battled with others and myself to take this path and I’m definitely not going to give up now.
If anyone votes for me and I win I’ll do my very best to get the most of the drawing course and to produce my best work.
I’m not a quitter, and I’m not going to be scared to go after my passion.
Thank you for reading. ^^
