This was quite challenging!

I am a mother of 3 adult children and 2 adopted special needs boys. They can be quite a job if I don’t find an outlet for my emotions. I live in northern Minnesota, USA, and right now the winter is really starting to get to me, even though we still have a long way to go!

My passion is my art, and I do it as much as possible. Since my husband stayed home on disability (almost a year ago) and has now retired, I find it even harder to find “me time” to do my art. I love to do art everyday because it is so important to my well being. It is so important to me that I feel unsettled when I don’t find the time to at least do a little! The 2 special needs boys can become overwhelming really fast if I don’t find a way to get away from it all. And art is my get away!

Drawing has always been a challenge for me! I never seem to get the darks quite dark enough! Or thee eyes quite as they should be. I keep plodding away, however. For a long time, I just skipped the drawing part, and went straight to painting! Lately I have tried to get back into the drawing because I feel that it would really improve my work.

I have not had any “formal training”, but have taken workshops from many artists. Drawing Academy looks like it is a step above anything that I have taken and I love to look at things on the website. I would love to win this course to step up my drawing skills! I think it would be a great achievement to finish this course, and have some “real training” to increase my skills!

Please vote for me so that I can take this course. I cannot really afford to pay for it at this time, but it would be something that I could take with me to improve everything to do with my art!
