Colored pencil drawings

Artworks by Jean, Drawing Academy student

A series of pencil drawings of mine from 2014, when I first discovered I can draw in colored pencil.

Milo Polychromous colored pencil on Borges 300gsm rough watercolor paper

I’m looking forward to improve my drawing skills in the Drawing Academy course further.

It is clear to me that you have both a love of nature and a remarkable talent to render your impressions with delicacy and a high degree of skill. I feel expression in the Canine choices, can nearly smell the roses, and the bird is simple gorgeous. No critique here, just admiration!

Wow thanks Steve (blush). Yes I love nature, and the images I draw all moved me intensely. Milo’s half squint cos of the bright light and almost smile of “happy to see you”, Poppy’s indignant shying away from the camera, the shadows and highlights of the roses and the confidence that eagles portray with their stare. I hope that I can improve on my skills with this course and convey expression as intensely and move people as I am moved by the things I see and appreciate. That’s what I want to do.
Thanks again Steve, I am humbled by your admiration.

    Jean
