Artwork and story from Mia Dey

My name is Mia Dey, and art is not simply something I do, it is the way I explore life.

Since I was young, I have been fascinated by the mystery of being alive. Art became the language through which I could ask questions that words could never fully answer. Through painting, I try to capture moments that feel larger than themselves: the connection between people, the hidden emotions we carry, the wonder of consciousness, and the beauty that exists even in ordinary moments.

Art occupies a central place in my life. It is how I process experiences, how I make sense of difficult emotions, and how I connect with others. When I am working on a painting, I often enter a state of complete absorption. Time disappears, and I feel deeply present. Painting has taught me patience, observation, and humility. It constantly reminds me that there is always more to learn.

One of my biggest challenges as an artist is translating what I feel into what appears on the canvas. Sometimes I can clearly sense an emotion, atmosphere, or idea, but expressing it visually is much more difficult. Another challenge is developing the technical skills necessary to fully support my creative vision. The more I grow as an artist, the more I realize how much there is still to discover.

What I want to learn most is how to strengthen my drawing skills and understanding of form, structure, light, and anatomy. I believe that stronger fundamentals would allow me greater freedom and confidence in expressing my ideas. I want my technical abilities to become a reliable foundation for the emotional and poetic qualities I seek in my work.

I think Drawing Academy offers exactly the kind of education that can help artists build that foundation. I appreciate its focus on solid artistic principles and disciplined learning. In a world filled with shortcuts and quick results, I value an approach that emphasizes genuine understanding and long-term growth.

I would love to win the Drawing Academy course because it would help me bridge the gap between my artistic vision and my current technical abilities. I am committed to continuous improvement, and I know I would dedicate myself fully to applying everything I learn. Winning this opportunity would be a meaningful step forward in my artistic journey.

If people choose to vote for me, I hope it is because they recognize a sincere passion for art and a genuine commitment to growth. I do not create art to chase trends or popularity. I create because I am endlessly curious about life and because I believe art has the power to connect people through shared human experiences. Art is my attempt to understand and express a little more of that mystery.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting artists who continue learning, growing, and creating.

Thank you,

Mia Dey
