What others call passion
Artwork and story from Sara Xavier
My name is Sara, I’m from Brazil. I’ve drawn a lot since I was a child, I always draw at least three days a week. The art in my life is what I am, because I cannot live without expressing what I perceive in the world. I have depression and that’s why I use art as therapy. (Seriously, To focus In some activity, Where focusing on something is quite calming for my anxiety) I can only have this degree of mindfulness when I’m drawing.
The challenge I have in art is not being able to transpose exactly a certain perception. I rarely manage to do it, and it frustrates me.
I certainly want to learn more of the basic fundamentals like perspective, color, texture, proportion. Because I trust my creativity a lot, but it rarely manages to be arranged on paper in logical way.
I believe that the videos I have access to are instructive. Because they focus on the fundamental part of art, which interests me a lot.
I want to win the Drawing Academy course because I intend to pursue a career as an artist.
Well, people could vote for me because I really want that. And maybe they like my work.
I gave this drawing a name, because it has a meaning for me, I call it “what others call passion”
It was done in graphite on A4 paper.
