Drawing to Help Others!
Story and artwork from Al Laparra
I am a military veteran father of three who enjoys drawing very much as well as looking at art. One of my biggest struggles is getting the right values to get portraits too look 3 dimensional and achieving likeness during the lay in process. I would love to learn as many portraiture fundamentals as possible. What I’ve seen so far in the videos on the YouTube channel is very intriguing to me. I started following Alexandr Rhizkin recently and though I do not understand his tongue, I enjoy watching his method of teaching.
I truly believe that the Drawing Academy course can give me the foundations I need to assist law enforcement solve cases by becoming a composite sketch artist. Being able to interpret descriptions from witnesses is so key for law enforcement officials to solve a case. Having re-discovered drawing during the pandemic time thanks to my 7-year-old son, I think that people can see the value of what I would like to use my newly acquired skills.
Thank you very much for the opportunity.
