To start off I would love to say how art has shown me romance, love and patients. Not only did I find my best friend and fiancé through creating and selling art, I also learned how to dive deep within different techniques of painting on wood or canvas to create something beautiful for people to love. The challenges I have found in art have come from lack of dedication and focus to my passion in illustrating and painting. Many times I have found myself uninspired to draw, so I go back to riding horses. While studying at the University of Northern Colorado, I helped pay for art supplies by working with a horse trainer; this brought a lot of inspiration to my work.
What I want to learn in art is how to make amazing pieces of work, that do not have a heavy eco-footprint. I have taken steps towards this method by taken scrap wood from the local mills; then I would sand, treat and paint them into works of art. However I could always use benefit from foundational skills of drawing.
I think the Drawing Academy is great. I was exposed to this course from taking at Portrait Painting class at the Mendocino College. To follow up I would love to win the Drawing Academy course to better my skills, so I bring a good hand to my art company.
Please vote for me because I am an artist that has given back a portion of my proceeds to the local high school art programs in which I have lived, in hopes to try and keep the younger generations off of the screens and more in the fields of charcoal, paint or ceramics.
