Story and artwork from Adrian Lupu

I began drawing two years ago, with nothing in mind other than an occupation that would give me some comfort and relaxation. In time, as my work has become somehow better, I became interested in art in general, other artists and the criteria of this type of activity. I draw once per day, so at the end of the month I have a pretty high number of drawings, and that helps me analyze the results and improve. I also have a degree in Philosophy, so my background in Aesthetics (that is the analytics of Beauty) serves me well. I guess the most important challenges of an aspiring artist are learning some important techniques and figuring out which subjects give him a special vibe and interest. My goal is to improve in academic drawing and eventually transfer this knowledge into painting. I think an expressive talent is important, but also keeping an eye open on the socio-cultural definition of art nowadays. You must be careful in understanding and managing your success, according to these norms and opportunities. I look forward to learning more and become better.

  1. Thank you for voting my work, I’m glad you liked it. This is a project I made back in 2020 after some images of Laetitia Casta that have inspired me. I am particularly interested in the use of contrasts (chiaroscuro) and the body anatomy; I would be glad to answer to your questions, if any. Have a great day!
