When I started working on this piece, I wanted to explore the theme of duality and the coexistence of contrasting emotions. I chose to depict a young person with a face painted black to represent the depth of sadness and darkness they might be experiencing. At the same time, I used vibrant colors in the background and added subtle hints of a smile to convey a sense of underlying happiness and resilience.

As I painted, I let my emotions guide me, allowing the brush strokes to flow freely. It was a cathartic experience, as I embraced both the happy and sad moments in my own life. The process was a mix of reflection, introspection, and self-expression.
