Figuring the Figure

I have been drawing for a long time, but I learned when I was 9 years old, and have had very little instruction since then. I went to Art College, which was mostly focused on concept development, not skills training. I was very disillusioned after completing my university degree (and I had majored in new media- which I then could not afford as a student to continue making art with). After university, I went traveling and being on the road meant I returned to drawing and painting after a long break.

I have challenges with setting up my drawings before diving in- I often end up drawing bigger than my page.

A lot of my drawing skills have been self-taught from books- so I think that I could definitely improve filling in the gaps in my knowledge, learning some more anatomy and improving my perspective and proportional skills.

I think what I have seen so far of Drawing Academy is great! It’s awesome to be able to learn online.

I want to win the Drawing Academy course so that I can continue to improve as an artist.

People should vote for me because I’m passionate about what I do and I hope to continue to learn so that I can make better art to share with the world!
