Rediscovery of self through art
I’m a final year Theoretical Physics postgraduate student in France. I was introduced to painting while I was in high school. However I couldn’t continue with it because of increasing pressure in studies. To add to that I was caught with chronic depression and OCD a few years ago. As usual I lost interest in everything and I had to drop a year because I just couldn’t continue with my studies.
However for the last few months I have begun to see some positive change thanks to psychotherapy, support from family and a renewed interest in art (painting). Art to me is liberating and creativity, a reason to appreciate life because it reminds me of the boundless scopes of human imagination and that life isn’t boring or depressing at the end.
I’m weak in doing portraits (can´t achieve likeness with the model), figure drawing (I’m still a stone-age artist when it comes to do a sketch of human figures from imagination) and also watercolour. I want to focus mainly on pencil sketch and watercolour.
Having said that, I find Drawing Academy adapted to my needs because I don´t have the resources to attend a proper art school or even a tutor. The online platform is apt for someone like me who’s on a constant lookout for a small window of time from a demanding physics curriculum.
Drawing Academy has reputed and competent tutors who I’m sure would help me to jump a level in skills, not to mention the opportunity to interact with other fellow artists.
I’m deeply motivated in this endeavor and I promise I´ll make you proud, those who will vote for me.
