Sketch by Ratna Chaudhary
I am my own muse
I am a retired Physics prof. from India who migrated to Canada in 2009. Immigrating to a new country and under duress can be very stressful. Plus the adjustments and starting life from a scratch can take its toll on you. Thank goodness for the love of sketching I had years before Physics took over my life.
Though the best 35 years of my life revolved around Physics, doing masters and PhD in it and later teaching but the artist on me remained latent through out, waiting to be waken up.
Art as a retiree began as a therapy which helped me cope up many challenges. It made me happy, I could see time flying as YouTube videos became my best teachers. But not learning it properly through a proper institute is my biggest regret.
Being a teacher I believe in the power of teaching and teachers. So after sketching I want to learn water colours. I learnt about the Drawing Academy from the net. The Academy is where my self taught endeavours will get channelised and add a new dimension to my work.
As I am a good learner, keen observer, open minded, hardworking learner, I know I will do a great justice to this course. But as I can not afford to pay I request everyone to help me win it. Soon after learning enough I will be back here sharing my learning process and helping, guiding and inspiring othes too. My favourite are self portraits which I do on a daily basis, though with the same mistakes as a professional artist community like you will observs.
Thanks so much everybody
