Drawing is a base of painting

When I was young, I had classes in a school of art. It was long time ago (about 45 years) and it was a different country – Soviet Union. I did not made my way as a painter, but those lessons of drawing, composition and history of art gave me knowledge, understanding and profound love to fine arts. I did not practice painting, but occasionally did drawings and watercolor works. Just about two years ago I found a lot of classes and lessons on oil painting on YouTube. It is awesome!

I started to paint some of the pictures which I liked. Most of all seascapes, flowers, landscapes. I knew that drawing is a base of painting and soon feel lack of knowledge in drawing of a human head, figure and body parts.

On YouTube I found video of Drawing Academy and subscribed on this channel. From promotion videos I liked that your vision and thoughts about painting are similar with mine. I am very thankful that you introduced Nikolay Blokhin for me. No, I can not draw like him, but I enjoy his works and found more videos about him.

I think my goal is painting portraits with oil. To reach it I need to practice drawing regular. I realize that my level a bit lower to enter the Drawing Academy and took some online drawing classes from Russian artist.

I would like to be in touch and may by November or February my skill will be good enough to take classes in the Drawing Academy. Last question, – why people should vote for me, – is the most difficult and I answer with a joke: “Please respect my age. I am 60 and still want to be an artist”.
