This is a portrait drawn partially from life and partially from imagination. That is the preliminary sketch is from life and the the rest is from my imagination.
The drawing is of son Ben who is turned ever so slightly to my right so that his left side is very slightly foreshortened. It is a pretty good likeness but not exact of course.
This is actually a study for a much larger and more complicated composition that I hope to draw in the future.
