Golden Mean Section

This video lesson explains step by step how you can make very precise golden proportion gauge that can measure the Golden Mean Section.
The Golden Mean Section Gauge has several rivets with a certain distance between them. The shapes of the gauge parts, distances between the rivets, and the dimensions of the gauge’s proportions will be provided for you as easy to use mechanical drawings.
Golden Mean Section Gauge Mechanics
The Golden Mean Section Gauge combines two 4-pin mechanisms. One is essential for keeping the golden ratio Phi constant between the three arms, and another increases the precision of the tool. The 4-pin mechanism consists of 4 moving parts that rotate around 4 rivets. Opposite arms of the Golden Mean Section Gauge are equal in length and therefore always parallel to each other. When one arm rotates around a fixed rivet, the other two arms will follow in synchrony. The opposite arms of the Golden Mean Section Gauge remain parallel despite the fact that the overall shape of the gauge mechanism is changing.
The Golden Mean Section Gauge can be used for measuring proportions in your compositions and drawings.
