I am a 53 year old recovering alcoholic. I draw or paint every day as a a means of therapy and diversion and I absolutely love it. Like everyone I have technical challenges and I work through tutorials most days in order to build my skills. I visit galleries a lot, the most recent on was to look at Cezanne’s drawings at the Whitworth gallery in Manchester.
I want to be better at drawing, specifically portraits and still lifes – Vincent van Gogh said drawing is everything and that is a cornerstone of my outlook even though I’m not very good yet I can see a little progress which is the great thing about drawing. Put the hours in and you can see progress.
The Drawing Academy course would be a great boost to my learning curve but I couldn’t say why one person should vote for me over someone else, everyone will have their good points and I always try to look for that.
