My interest in art began in my last year at school in the mid 1960’s. When I left school I continued to draw and paint, experimenting with many different media from pencil, ink, pastels, and paint. I went through periods of abstract art, cubism, expressionism, impressionism, etc., but it wasn’t until the 1980s when I discovered who I really was as an artist. I found a natural feeling for nature and creating work that was a cross between impressionism and realism.

When I was 37 years old I embarked on a 2-year graphic design and illustration course at Art College. I have also taken fine art studies part-time but found them disappointing as they never taught students ‘how to draw’, which was a huge drawback. When I left Art College I freelanced to the print trade and later embarked on a program of self-study, investigating the techniques of the old masters.

I consider myself to be a reasonably good artist and have had a number of exhibitions over the years. However, I feel certain the Drawing Academy can help me progress to higher level of competence – possibly taking me close to the level of master artist.

The Drawing Academy is an excellent place to learn about how the master's draw and paint using techniques that are rarely taught in art school today. The Drawing Academy is helping to preserve and teach those skills.

I joined the Drawing Academy back in 2014 and entered the art competition but didn’t score enough votes to win. However, I did win the first month of drawing lessons for five articles, which helped me understand and acquire new drawing skills. A few months have passed by since then and I now want to progress even further so I have decided to enter the latest competition for the second time with hopes of winning month 2 and month 3 of the drawing course, which I feel will take my drawing skills to a much more advanced level.

I know I have many colleges and friends across the world who will support me in this competition in return for my help with their artwork.

Very often everyday mundane objects can make the best subjects for painting. Thanks for voting.

Ronnie is a good represent of art by stages (I can see a beautiful sample inspired in a tool for work in a garden ). I give him my vote with pleasure and joy.

My husband is a free spirited artist. Just for the love. This is my first impression of the boots. They are beyond anything ever jumping off the page at me. I hope you win. I do.
