Flavor of Greece

Flavor of Greece

Story and painting by Litsa Raftopoulou, Drawing Academy student

I come from Greece, a country rich in manners, customs, traditions and history.

From early childhood, I was fascinated with every stone and corner of the fatherland.

The daily hearings either at school when I was a kid either now that I am now in a fairly mature age were and are our history and traditions.
A country which over the centuries has been plagued by many conquerors occasionally but with boundless passion and adoration from the people to their homeland.

Litsa Raftopoulou story and artwork

The everyday life of Greek is also a tradition.

He works hard in worship for his family in nature most often cultivating and utilizing this rich earth and having always designed primarily to educate the children in any field.

When all around you the sea, the wild nature, the deep blue sky, and so rich history … the only thing left is to inspire! The Inspiration then comes alone effortlessly without difficulty and interventions.

A nice Sunday morning with blue sky I visited the new Acropolis Museum! It’s like a dream! The landscape is unique! And when you know that there have walked all the great philosophers of ancient Greece taught worldwide.

The only that I feel is fear terror respect and certainly feel pride.

I saw and liked to have another pair of eyes you can see them better and to impress upon my memory.

Shooting throughout watching and admiring GREEK CULTURE.

I heard all about the Caryatids but had not been given the opportunity to never had this luck can stand in front of them and sometimes found in sites of the Caryatids INCREDIBLE! Do not think anyone could have imagined that a human hand has carved these daughters!

Kneeling in front of them! I feel the greatness of soul of the artist who was able to create such a work that I admire all of humanity through the ages.

I’m proud to be Greek!

Inspired my artwork ‘flavor of Greece “by my visit to the Acropolis Museum is watching the caryatids and my traditions and history of my homeland.

I wanted to create a spontaneously paintings set inside a canvas you can close with some crude brushes my country and intense flavor.
