Sharing the passion of art!
I am delighted to have found the Drawing Academy course – I have always had a strong interest in art but have not been able to take up any formal training.
Thanks to this course I improved my drawing skills and learned about the fundamentals of drawing, which has been extremely insightful. This course provides extensive range of educational materials including video lessons, book, art albums, and above all personal support by the Academy tutors. I also like that I can learn at my own pace when I actually have spare time (as a busy grandparent looking after two young grandchildren)…
Since retiring I have been looking for some new things to try. Art & drawing has been on the list.
Initially, I watched some drawing video lessons from one teaching company, which was OK. However, I found the Drawing Academy course much better. Watching someone actually drawing was very helpful. This made me to pick up a pencil and start drawing. I didn’t have any prior drawing experience, apart of doodling in a kindergarten.
Medical illustration has been a particular interest for me as I’m a retired doc; so I began with that…
My name is Neil and I’m 45 years old. I never knew I would develop a passion for drawing, until I saw it through my daughter’s eyes. I have been a student of the Drawing Academy since December 2015. I was of course skeptical taking an online art course, but Academy tutors have keep me on course, consistently provided me support, and encouragement at what always seems to be the right moment…
I would like to thank Drawing academy tutors for this wonderful course and for their help and advise which I needed time to time.
I am professionally qualified as a textile designer. I have been drawing and painting for a long time, however, I never learned fine arts form any traditional institute until I came across the Drawing academy course…
The Appeal of Hatching
The main attraction for me about enrolling with the Drawing Academy is because of the old master techniques that are taught, which cannot be found in any mainstream art school. My drawing skills were quite good before I enrolled with the Drawing Academy and most of my shading, especially with graphite pencil, was rendered by smudging to obtain smooth tones, which was my main fall-down.
During the Drawing Academy course I had learnt one vital piece of information, not to smudge graphite…
I Love to Draw
I love drawing since I was a child, but I was not very good. As I was growing up, I believed that only people with talent could draw.
Then as an adult, and due to the stresses of daily life, I read books about drawing which taught me how to draw “what you see”; some books were better than others. Then I found one that explained that drawing was a skill that I could learn…
I am a 46 year old artist from Brazil, who discovered art relatively late in my life, yet I still have the opportunity to study art academically.
I am very fortunate to be a student of the Drawing Academy. Here, I developed my skills and knowledge about art…
The joy of drawing can drive my out of bed at 5 in the morning
I have been drawing every day for more than 6 months, and it fills me with so much happiness that it can drive me out of bed at 5 a.m.
Before I joined the Drawing Academy, I was mainly drawing from drawing books and from YouTube tutorials. Practicing with the Drawing Academy on a daily basis has given me thorough basic skills and knowledge, and I look forward to starting all over again with some of the drawing lessons and compare new drawings with my first attempts in order to evaluate my skills. I will certainly also consider other lessons from the Drawing Academy and would highly appreciate a course on the use of pastels…
Here’s what Frans, Drawing Academy graduate says:
“Before enrolling in the Drawing Academy, I took the Web Art Academy course.
Then I decided to take the drawing course to improve my drawing skills, knowledge in human anatomy, learn proficient tonal rendering techniques, etc.
The quality of the Drawing Academy lessons exceeded my expectations. Numerous videos and books on how to draw portraits and figures, drawing in perspective, silver-point drawing techniques and so on were very helpful…
Review and artworks from Lindsay Gordon, Drawing Academy graduate
I am a 77-year old male retiree who has been searching for an activity that is creative and fulfilling in my twilight years. My home is in Melbourne, Australia but I am currently staying with my daughter for three months in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
I have been quite creative with my photography over many years but found it a little too easy to produce very good results. After retiring several years ago I took up wood-turning and produced many very nice pieces but had to give it up because it was so messy in a home environment and became quite dangerous when I developed shaking hands as a side effect of medication for a mild heart condition. What both wood-turning and photography showed me is that I do have a bit of a creative streak in me…
