Swimming on the dining table
Art is my passion. I am interested in all aspects of art and drawing is the foundation to most disciplines of art.
My best art teacher was trained in Moscow and I have come to respect the rigour and strong discipline of the Russian art training.
The Drawing Academy appears to be founded in such an institution and this is the reason I want to learn from the Academy. While I have considerable skills in drawing, I feel I need a refresher in training as it has been more than 20 years since I was taught by my Russian art teacher. Even in university, I have not had the basic skills taught in such detail and to be honest, a lot of art students majoring in art lack basic drawing skills.
The Humming Soul
To win the Drawing Academy course, is a great opportunity for me to learn the principles and discipline of the masters; the classical-timeless way that I always dream of. I believe it can help me to “effectively” express my passion in an artistic manner. Knowing the techniques will help and guide me in the right direction to create with efficiency and cuts frustration and stress from constant trial and error in the process of drawing.
I am 52 and have just begun (6 years?) to do art after taking an icon painting workshop. I am not married and work now in the field of physical therapy, but I work very long hours to make ends meet. Many people have told me I have talent, and the desire to make art has grown to the point where I believe it is a calling.
Quest to be a classical artist
I have been drawing since I can remember. Art has always been a passion for me, helping me through depression, giving me a sense of worth. Art is journey for the more I learn about my self and life, the more it reflects in my art. I studied art in secondary school then I Graphic Design in college. I found graphic design unfulfilling. So I decided to quit and to do freelance art, though people generally like my work I feel I could be better, I have lots of ideas but they are limited because I can’t execute them. In the last few months I have decided to push myself, but i feel like I need guidance from a teacher.
“Life is messy, precious, and so very good. Dreams do come true. Love is everywhere. My gratitude is endless. And my heart is finally, beautifully, fully open”
Old! Colorful! enthizing! Like wine!
I am a Colombian woman living in the United State of America. Worked for many years in various industries, and I never knew that I could draw! My husband said “You make very interesting doodles!” I was unemployed and needing a hobby. He bought me a kit, sketch book, pencils and boom! I got hooked. I knew of many relatives that could sketch and paint…me? Never!
Robert De Niro – Portrait
I am 47 years old, a business man by profession with an Engineering background from India. While I have never pursued art in my earlier years have always been interested and fascinated with the subject. The maximum I had tried my hand on was on doing pencil sketches.
I Am Simply Put an Artist
My name is Molly, and I am currently a senior in high school. This year I will be taking my second year of AP (or college level) studio art at my highschool, and i am also enrolled in an AP Art history class. Over the years my interest and aspirations for my art career have grown. Though my passion for art can be limited to the action of creating, I would also like to tell you it doesn’t end there.
I am fascinated by the the art of the masters. The Classical and traditional art that had once been the epitome of culture. Art takes a major place in my life in this aspect. It is my inspiration and my passion.

It is never too late
I am a 72 year old woman from Finland. The love for art has played a big role in my long life.
At an early age the greatest luck was if you could get some kind of paper to draw on. When I was a child, after the war in my country, there was a shortage of everything but I loved to draw – I drew on anything… Later in school the teachers saw some talent in me and encouraged me to draw and paint. I’m forever grateful for their support…
