Two Hermits by Subrata Chatterjee

I am Subrata Chatterjee from West Bengal, India. After completing my B.A, I completed B.F.A (Painting) with First Class from I.K.S.V. in 2004. Now I am a full time artist and an illustrator of Kolkata Books.

Art is my alter ego. I roam in the world of it, with it and finally try to reach its core of endless beauty.

I always take challenge to capture the inner tia of human life and it’s deep feelings. And, I, truly try to learn deep-rooted bonding of human interactions through visual impressions.

I think Drawing Academy can help profoundly an art student to train his or her eyes and improve the necessary skills.

I want to win the Drawing Academy Course to enrich myself more and more and I expect from the deep core of my heart that the respected people (visitors) should vote for me to help me to enter broader world of knowledge and, of course, it will be a priceless inspiration to me.

This painting is about Two Hermits. I spent a lot of times with them and observed their personal life. When they discuss a topic on spirituality and deep thinking they closed within themselves – and, what I noticed, very much calm deep and divine.

An artwork reached in such depth that drives the spectator to delve into the inner world, hidden inside through the viewing experience. It creates such an urge not only to open the doorway of the mystic realm of art but also to teleport the consciousness to the sublime spiritual heaven. The painting significantly plays the role of a portal to start over the journey towards other dimensions.

What a fabulous piece of work -it’s a poem without words that enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time. That kind of magestic consciousness makes the threshold towards the real spiritual dimension.??

  4. Sanchari says:

Nicely created & the unusually large scale of the portrait to include some exceptionally fine detail in this paintings . He has organised his work into a graceful & highly formal composition ?

Spirituality elevates the human life to a higher plane. This picture is a perfect example for inspiring the youth to lead their lives in a spiritual way.

This particular artwork encapsulates so much tranquility within it, perfectly juxtaposed with the subtle rawness of ascetic life.
Such a magnificent blend of two opposing aspects is what makes it even more brilliant.
